Gabby Rios

Born and raised in San Diego, my passion for art led me to Los Angeles in 2013. I graduated from Otis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design in 2017. Recently, I discovered my love for surface pattern design and now blend my graphic design expertise with this newfound passion.

Combining traditional artistic techniques with modern digital tools, I create nature-inspired visuals that bring organic beauty to a wide range of products.

Beyond my passion for art I enjoy cooking, crocheting, spending time with my two cats, and attending hot yoga classes.

Traditional Techniques

I begin by painting or drawing with India ink, allowing it to flow naturally to create organic, one-of-a-kind shapes.

Modern Digital Tools

I then import these paintings into Adobe Illustrator, where I convert them into vector shapes. This allows me to work with high-resolution imagery to craft distinctive, detailed patterns.

I also frequently create on my iPad using the drawing program Procreate, combining the convenience of digital tools with the natural, organic feel of hand-drawn artwork.
